Ernest J. Cantillon


Ernest Cantillon graduated from University College, Cork, with a BCL Degree, he then studied with the Law Society in Dublin and qualified as a Solicitor in 1980.

During his career, Ernest’s expertise has been recognised by his own profession by his appointment or election to the following positions:

  • Council Member of the Law Society of Ireland
  • Chairman of the Litigation Committee of the Law Society of Ireland
  • President of the Southern Law Association
  • Member of the Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal
  • Appointed by the Minister for Justice to a Committee which advised the Minister on the qualifications of Judges.

Ernest is a Litigation Solicitor who has been involved in a large number of ground-breaking precedent setting cases. Apart from advising members of the public his advice is frequently sought by his colleagues. Ernest has lectured extensively on litigation and litigation related issues.
