Significant settlement for a Gentleman following Negligent Repair of an Incisional Hernia Defect.

Orla Kelly and the Medical Negligence Team acted on behalf of a gentleman who sustained significant injury following elective surgery to a repair an incisional hernia defect. Following the ill-advised surgery he developed severe complications including sepsis and organ failure. This resulted in a stay of almost three weeks in ITU followed by a further 50 days in hospital.  This gentleman has endured a lengthy and difficult recovery since that time and his ongoing injuries have severely impacted on all aspects of his life.

The case was vigorously defended for a number of years until an admission of liability was made by the Defendants shortly in advance of trial.  The team at Cantillons were delighted to negotiate this significant settlement which this gentleman so rightfully deserved.
