Jody Cantillon and the Litigation Team at Cantillons Solicitors recently obtained significant compensation for a Client who suffered injury, loss and damages following a work place accident.
Our Client was working as a welder in the Oil Industry when she suffered injuries as a result of a metal component falling from a height and landing on her head.
A claim for compensation was made to PIAB (formally the Injuries Board) and the matter was released from that process. Thereafter, Personal Injury proceedings issued.
The Defendant denied liability. An expert Engineer was required and extensive research was carried out into the servicing of various metal components which are exposed to extreme weather. Our Client’s Engineer concluded that the Defendant was negligent in relation to the way they serviced the metal components.
The matter was listed for hearing before the High Court and ultimately settled resulting in significant compensation being paid out to our Client. The settlement was obtained without our Client having to give evidence. The Defendant was required to pay for our Client’s legal costs.
