Compensation for Waitress Injured at Work

Our client was a waitress, working in a restaurant, when she suffered injuries as a result of a glass smashing in her hand.        An Application was made to PIAB (formerly the Injuries Board), and the matter was released from that process. Thereafter, Circuit Court Personal Injuries Proceedings issued.

The Defendant denied liability. We instructed an Engineering Expert, and carried out extensive research regarding the correct practice and procedures for managing glassware in restaurants.

The matter was listed for Hearing and ultimately settled, resulting in significant compensation being paid to our client. The settlement was obtained without the need for our client to give evidence. The Defendant was also required to pay our client’s legal costs.
