Dental negligence case settled in respect of a contraindicated extraction and negligent management of infection which left lady emotionally and physically scarred.

Posted in News on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017

In April 2017, Susie Elliott and the Medical Negligence Team settled a dental negligence case for a young lady.  In 2014, this lady attended a dental practice and the dentists in question wrongly recommended and carried out an unnecessary extraction of wisdom teeth as a result of which the lady developed a severe infection. This infection was mismanaged by the dentists, resulting in an emergency admission to hospital and an operation, which left the Plaintiff emotionally traumatised and with a permanent, unsightly scar to her neck. The case settled before trial for a significant 5 figure sum.
