Compensation for Garda injured in the course of her duties

The Litigation Team at Cantillons Solicitors recently represented a member of An Garda Siochana who suffered significant Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of a very serious life threatening incident during the course of her work as a member of An Garda Siochana.

We issued proceedings under the provisions of the Garda Siochana (Compensation) Acts, 1941-1945.

After hearing the evidence, the High Court awarded our client significant financial compensation for the PTSD and her out of pocket expenses.

Our client was delighted with the outcome of the Court action and in particular, the fact that she got to tell the Court fully what happened to her on that near fatal night.
