Care worker settles claim following assault
Posted in News on Friday, May 27th, 2016
A worker who was viciously assaulted in a HSE run facility by a resident suffered life-changing injuries. She could no longer work having suffered physical and psychological injuries. The team argued that the HSE had failed in its duty to protect the woman. Every employee is entitled to a safe place of work and the team argued that the HSE had not provided this. The case was fought by the HSE for some time and was due to be heard in April for a number of weeks. The case settled just as the case began and the woman received substantial compensation.
