GARDA RECEIVES COMPENSATION

Liam Dunford and Ernest Cantillon at Cantillons Solicitors recently successfully represented a member of An Garda Síochána in the High Court who suffered a serious fracture to his left knee during the course of his work as a Garda. The Garda was in pursuit of a youth when he was caused to be knocked to the ground by the youth. The case was heard remotely, with the Client attending at our offices and was able to watch on line his case being presented by his Legal Team to the Judge (remotely). The Client had already sworn very comprehensive Affidavits which we drafted for him. The Affidavits set out fully the details of the injuries sustained to him (supported by medical reports) and details of his out-of-pocket expenses.

After reading the comprehensive Affidavits and listening to the Legal Teams and making Submissions, the Court awarded our client significant compensation in line with his injuries plus all of his out-of-pocket expenses, plus costs. Our client was very happy with the result as he avoided the stress of having to attend Court more particularly in these current times.
