HOTEL EMPLOYEE RECEIVES COMPENSATION

Liam Dunford and Ernest Cantillon at Cantillons Solicitors recently acted for a Client who was injured during his work in a hotel whilst attempting to carry some luggage belonging to a guest up a flight of stairs.  The Client had not been provided with manual handling training and therefore this was a breach of Statutory obligations by the employer in the circumstances of his job. Our client suffered a significant injury to his lower back and resulting depression which had a severe impact on his ability to work and his personal life. The Defendants filed a full Defence to the case but after lengthy negotiations between both sides the case was settled for significant monies and the client was delighted that he was fully compensated for his injury without having to go to Court.
