SUBSTANTIAL COMPENSATION FOR CLIENT AS A RESULT OF A SLIP AND FALL IN A CITY COUNCIL PARK
Posted in News on Monday, January 22nd, 2024
Jody Cantillon and the Litigation team at Cantillons Solicitors, recently successfully obtained significant compensation for a client who suffered injury, loss and damage as a result of a fall in a public park.
In summary, our client was walking through a park (which was owned and managed by a City Council) when he was caused to slip and fall on algae on the ground. Cantillons Solicitors instructed a Consulting Engineer who confirmed that the drainage system within the park was defective and this was the cause of the accident.
The matter was referred to PIAB (formerly the Injuries Board) and the matter was released as the City Council denied liability for the accident.
Thereafter, our client launched a Personal Injuries Claim in the High Court.
The case settled for significant compensation without our client having to give evidence in Court.

* In contentious business, a Solicitor may not calculate fees or other charges as a percentage or proportion of any award or settlement. Many Personal Injury Solicitors portray themselves as “no win no fee Solicitors Cork” or “no win no fee Solicitors Dublin”. This term can be misleading and it is essential that you discuss fees with the Personal Injury Solicitor you ultimately choose. At Cantillons Solicitors, we are entirely transparent.
