Jody Cantillon, and the Litigation Team at Cantillons Solicitors, recently successfully obtained significant compensation for a client who suffered injuries, loss and damage as a result of a road traffic accident.
In summary, our client was driving along the road when, suddenly and without warning, a car pulled out in front of her. Our client was unable to avoid the collision and as a result suffered injuries, loss and damage.
The Defendant denied liability for the accident. In those circumstances, it was necessary to instruct an Engineer to carry out surveys of the road etc. The Engineer confirmed that, based on the line of sight, the speed our client was travelling, and the road condition, the Defendant was responsible for the accident.
The matter was referred to the Personal Injuries Assessment Board PIAB (formerly the Injuries Board), and the matter was released from that process as the Defendant denied liability.
Thereafter, High Court Personal Injuries Proceedings issued. The case was listed for hearing before the High Court. However, it settled before the case commenced for significant compensation, without our client having to give evidence in Court.
