AWARD OF COMPENSATION FOR CLIENT INJURED WHILE SHOPPING

Jody Cantillon and the Litigation Team at Cantillons Solicitors recently successfully represented a client who suffered injuries while shopping in a well-known Department Store.

While walking around the shop our client was caused to fall when a child swinging on a barrier collided with our client.

Our client suffered serious physical and psychological injuries.

Prior to the accident, the child had been swinging on the barrier, for a period of time, in front of the staff of the Department Store. We argued that the barrier was a danger and acted as an allurement to children to swing and the staff should have stopped the child from swinging on the barrier.

The Department Store tried to persuade our client to withdraw her case, however, having considered our advice, our client decided to proceed with the case, which ultimately ran before the Circuit Court.

Our client was successful and the Court awarded a significant amount of damages for the injury, loss and damage they suffered as a result of this accident.
