Our client, who was under the age of 18, suffered injuries when she was assaulted by a teacher. The matter was submitted to the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (Board), but was released as the Defendants denied liability.
Cantillons Solicitors were instructed to bring a Circuit Court personal injuries claim on behalf of our minor client. The Defendants denied liability. We consulted with a number of doctors who were in a position to confirm that the type of injury our client suffered was consistent with the mechanics of the assault as alleged against the teacher.
The case was listed for hearing before the Circuit Court when the case settled, with our client receiving compensation for the injuries suffered. The settlement was made without our client having to give evidence in Court.
