Posted in News on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019
The Litigation Team recently negotiated a significant settlement for a prison officer who had been exposed to an infectious disease, namely Tuberculosis, during the course of his employment. His injuries were exacerbated when he experienced side effects from the medication used to prevent the progression of the condition. He experienced psychological worry, distress and upset during the course of his treatment. These cases can be particularly complex but the Litigation Team at Cantillons Solicitors have ample experience in this area of law, having negotiated numerous settlement and prosecuted numerous cases for Plaintiffs who have contracted infectious disease in circumstances where their employers have failed to adopt appropriate measures to prevent and control the spread of infectious disease within the workplace.
