Car Accident Claim Settled

Jody Cantillon and the Litigation Team at Cantillons Solicitors recently settled a case for a client who suffered a whiplash injury as a result of a road traffic accident.

Our client was the driver of a vehicle which was rear ended and suffered injuries as a result. PIAB assessed the matter based on the Book of Quantum. However the assessment was rejected by our client, on our advice, as it was not sufficient compensation for the injuries suffered. The matter proceeded to Court.

Ultimately, an offer was made by the Defendant which was over and above that which was made by PIAB. This was accepted by the client.  The client did not have to go to Court.  As part of the settlement, our client’s legal fees were paid by the Defendant.
