Significant compensation for client who suffered injuries following road traffic accident

The Litigation Team recently negotiated a six figure settlement for a self-employed gentleman who suffered soft tissue injuries due to a road traffic accident which occurred in the South East of the country. Our client suffered a complex back injury and a suspected fracture of the spine; he was caused to wear a neck and back brace. He was a poor candidate for an accident of this nature, due to the fact he had been diagnosed with a respiratory condition from birth and is required to carry out physiotherapy type exercises, on a daily basis. Due to the restriction caused by the brace, he was unable to adequately perform these exercises. 8 months post-accident, he developed double pneumonia and required hospitalisation for a period of six weeks. Following his discharge from hospital, he continued to experience fatigue and his ability to work full time has been compromised. At first sight, it was not readily apparent that these issues were directly linked to the road traffic accident the subject matter of proceedings. However, The team at Cantillons worked closely with our client’s health practitioners to establish the causal link between the wearing of the brace and the decrease in lung function and creation of the perfect breeding ground for infection. The case settled without the requirement of a court attendance and the Plaintiff recovered his legal costs.

This term can be misleading and it is essential that you discuss fees with the Personal Injury Solicitor you ultimately choose. At Cantillons Solicitors, we are entirely transparent.
