COMPENSATION FOR CLIENT INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT AT WORK

Jody Cantillon, and the Litigation Team of Cantillons Solicitors, recently successfully obtained significant compensation for a client who suffered injuries, loss and damage as a result of a workplace accident.

Our client was walking in his place of work when he slipped on water on the floor.    Following extensive investigations, it was revealed that the floor had been washed just prior to the fall, but had not been adequately dried. Our client was not warned that the floor was wet.

Our client’s employer, and the employers’ cleaning company, denied liability for the accident.

The matter was referred to PIAB (formerly the Injuries Board), and the matter was released from that process as the Defendants denied liability.

Thereafter, High Court Personal Injuries Proceedings issued.

The case was heard before the High Court for a number of days, and following evidence being given by our client and his experts, the Defendants settled the case with significant compensation for our client. The Defendants also agreed to pay our client’s costs.
