CHILD WHO FELL INTO MANHOLE RECEIVES COMPENSATION
Posted in News on Thursday, June 17th, 2021
Jody Cantillon, and the Litigation Team of Cantillons Solicitors, recently successfully represented a child in relation to a personal injuries claim arising out of an accident.
Our client was walking along a footpath when he stood on a defective manhole covering. The child fell into the manhole. Our client suffered physical and psychological injuries. The matter was referred to the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB), but was released, as the Defendants refused to engage with the PIAB process.
Personal injury proceedings were issued, through the child’s next friend. A full Defence was entered on behalf of the Defendant, whereby they denied any liability for the accident.
A successful settlement was achieved for our client, without the need for our client to attend Court.

* In contentious business, a Solicitor may not calculate fees or other charges as a percentage or proportion of any award or settlement. Many Personal Injury Solicitors portray themselves as “no win no fee Solicitors Cork”. This term can be misleading and it is essential that you discuss fees with the Personal Injury Solicitor you ultimately choose. At Cantillons Solicitors, we are entirely transparent.
