Jean Buttimer


Jean is an Associate in our General Litigation Department having joined the team in January 2024.

Jean graduated from University College Cork in 2008 with an Honours Bachelors of Civil Law degree. Jean went on to complete a Masters in Law in University College Cork graduating with Honours in October 2009.

Jean attended Blackhall Place to complete the Law Society Professional Practice Courses and undertook her apprenticeship with a well known Cork office, specialising in civil and criminal litigation.

Jean qualified as a solicitor in 2014 and began her legal career in Dublin where she gained significant advocacy experience. Prior to joining Cantillons, Jean had worked in a large State agency for five years. Jean has extensive experience in all areas of litigation with an emphasis on personal injuries having acted for both Plaintiffs and Defendants. Jean has successfully acted for clients in the District, Circuit and High Courts as well as the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Jean’s experience includes;

  • Personal Injuries Claims on behalf of both Plaintiffs and Defendants to include accidents at work, road traffic accidents, slips and falls and bullying & harassment cases.
