Our client was a passenger in a car being driven late at night. The driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol. Our client was not wearing her seatbelt. Unfortunately, the driver lost control and our client was thrown from the vehicle and made impact with the road. She suffered a serious brain injury (along with other physical injuries) as a result.

Our client was transferred to Hospital and remained in Intensive Care for a period.

The matter was referred to the Personal Injuries Resolution Board (PIRB – formally PIAB) but was released given the extent of our client’s injuries.

Thereafter, High Court Personal Injuries proceedings issued.

The matter was listed for hearing and ran for 3 days when the Defendant made an offer to settle the case resulting in a significant compensation for our client.
