Significant Award for Client injured while on Holidays in Spain

Jody and the Litigation Team represented a client who suffered serious injuries as a result of a fall while on holidays in Spain. Although the accident happened in Spain, legal proceedings were brought in Ireland under the Package Holidays & Travel Trade Act 1995 which allows people, who have booked a package holiday, and who suffered injuries on that holiday, to claim compensation in Ireland, against the Package Holiday provider.   

In this instance, the hotel bathroom was unsafe and not fit for purpose. Our client fell in the bathroom and suffered injury as a result.  The Defendants denied liability and fought the case up until moments before the matter was about to begin, before a Judge in Cork Circuit Court.  Jody and the team successfully achieved a substantial settlement for our client, without the need to go to Court.
