Settlement Secured for Client in Medical (Physiotherapy) Negligence Claim

The claim settled at mediation shortly before it was due to be heard in the High Court.

The case concerned physiotherapy treatment provided to our client.

Following a detailed investigation, an independent physiotherapy expert concluded that the treatment provided on that date fell below the appropriate standard of care.

The hospital disputed negligence, causation, the extent of our client’s injuries and her financial losses throughout the case.

Cantillons carefully assembled the evidence needed to address each of these issues, including medical records from numerous healthcare providers, expert evidence, witness statements, details of our client’s expenses and actuarial evidence.

The case was fully prepared for trial, with a specially fixed High Court hearing date.

However, following careful preparation and detailed negotiations at mediation less than six weeks prior to the hearing date, we successfully settled the case for our client.
