Our client was a Healthcare Worker.  During the course of their employment, they needed to get supplies from a storeroom.  Our client’s employer stored a number of items at a height but failed to provide any safe access or ladder.  Our client had to make their own way of accessing the stock and fell causing injury, loss and damage.

Our client’s employer denied liability for the accident. The matter was released from the Personal Injuries Resolution Board (previously PIAB) and an Authorisation issued.  A High Court Personal Injuries Claim was then brought.

We instructed an Expert Engineer and carried extensive research regarding the correct practices of putting stock at height. We obtained a supportive report.

The matter was listed for hearing and ultimately settled (without our client having to go to Court) resulting in a significant compensation payment being made to our client.  The Defendant was also required to pay our client’s legal costs.
