Compensation for Garda Assaulted while on Duty

In summary, our client was restraining an individual when their left hand became trapped resulting an injury to their hand.

Cantillons Solicitors brought a Garda Siochana Compensation Claim on behalf of our Client. This involved lodging a Form 2A Application with the Garda Siochana Compensation Section. Malice was admitted and the matter then proceeded through the Personal Injuries Resolution Board) (formally the Injuries Board) and was ultimately released.  Thereafter, our client issued a Circuit Court Personal Injuries proceedings.

Detailed reports were obtained from our Client’s GP and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in support of the serious nature of the injuries sustained during the assault.

An Assessment Defence was delivered and the matter ultimately came before the Circuit Court and our client was awarded significant compensation.
