Jody Cantillon and the litigation team of Cantillons Solicitors recently successfully obtained significant compensation for a client who suffered injuries following a fall at work.
In summary, our client was walking through the car park at their place of work when they fell because of a defect in the ground. Our client suffered considerable injuries (both physical and psychological). As result of their injuries, they were unable to work and incurred a significant loss of earnings.
The matter was referred to the Personal Injuries Resolution Board (PIRB) but our client’s employer refused to allow the PIRB to deal with the matter. An Authorisation issued permitting the matter to proceed through the Courts. Thereafter, a High Court Personal Injuries Summons issued.
We attended an inspection at the scene of the accident with our Engineer and we obtained a supportive liability report.
The matter ultimately settled (without our client having to go to Court) for significant compensation. The compensation included payments for our client’s pain and suffering, loss of earnings, and other out of pocket expenses.
