Cantillons Solicitors are delighted to be nominated, again this year, in two award categories:-
Munster Law Firm of the Year (5 Solicitors)
Legal Website of the Year
at the forthcoming 5th Annual Irish Law Awards.
The awards ceremony will take place on 6th of May 2016 at DoubleTree by Hilton Dublin, Burlington Road.
The Firm is honoured, privileged and, indeed humbled, to be nominated. Each year that we have been nominated, we have received an award. In 2012, the Medical Negligence team received the award of Litigation Team of the Year; in 2014, we were honoured with a Special Merit Award and in 2015 the Firm won the Litigation Case of the Year in recognition of the Firm’s achievement in the case of Gill Russell v. The HSE, a medical negligence case, securing record damages for a young boy injured at birth. In a landmark Judgement, the Court reduced the Real Rate of Return to 1% which had the effect of producing an award for damages of €13,000,000. The award set a precedent for other similar cases. (The Court Appeal subsequently confirmed the decision of Mr Justice Cross in the High Court).
The Awards aim to identify, honour and publicise outstanding achievements. This prestigious ceremony allows Irish Legal Professionals to be recognised alongside their international peers.
It is such a privilege to be recognised by one’s peers by virtue of these nominations and we look forward to a great day on the 6th of May.
