Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015
Posted in News on Monday, March 6th, 2017
Aisling O’Leary and Jody Cantillon of the Litigation Department were delighted to give a talk on the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015, at Headway’s Family Carers Day on the 6th March 2017.
Jody began the talk by outlining the current regime in relation to Capacity and Wardship. He then went on to outline the relevant sections of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015. Aisling spoke about Enduring Powers of Attorney and the proposed changes to this system once the new Act commences. Aisling also made reference to the introduction of Health Care Directives.
What was clear, having given the talk and spoken to some of the families attending was that Headway does great work for all of those involved with people who have acquired brain injuries.
